i need to clean the communication hose to the expansion vessel in my potterton 80e boiler.
i'm finding it really awkward to undo the hose.is there a certain tool i should be using ?

I thought they were virtually impossible to get off the EXV unless the boiler is taken off the wall.

Luckily the blockage is usually in the boiler end.

There is a simple tool that engineers make up for cleaning them.

should i not try to undo the communication hose?
instead would it be better if i try to clear the blockage by taking the pump out and attempt to clean the hose that way?

Its certainly easier if you can unblock it that way!

make sure you completely discharge the Vessel before attempting to clear the blockage or you will get absolutely covered in black sludge
