Communication issue between boiler and stat

I have a Main 24 HE boiler which is working fine. HW all ok, but the wired stat has given me some problems in the last year. I have replace the drayton stat for a new one, but it looks like it is not communicating again.

Any idea what is the issue ? It cant be another faulty stat can it. I am using a basic dial stat with no programming.

You need to test for continuity from receiver where the wires enter boiler
