Compression fitting on 10mm JG plastic barrier pipe

I have a copper or brass not sure which compression fitting that I need to insert a 10mm plastic pipe into. The fitting comes with the metal olive ring. From what I have read, I can use this olive ring on the plastic pipe. But question is do I need metal insert for the plastic pipe or will a plastic insert work? Use Speedfit inserts with Speedfit pipe, but make sure you use the ones without the external O-ring in compression fittings

Always use the insert recommended by the pipe manufacturer you are using some use plastic inserts and some metal as you will see in the Screw-fix cat. The insert you have found is for oil pipe line green pipework and may indeed be of a different internal bore recommended do not use.

Yes the metal olive is compressed into the plastic pipe which is prevented from collapsing by the insert.

You still have to use inserts even with the "O" ring fittings.

Copper olives work better than brass ones, don't use any jointing paste, don't over tighten.

As above you need to use an insert.

You can use PTFE tape if required.
