looking to use compression joints on some flexible plastic piping.

is there a 'best practice' on the following:

type of insert to use - copper or plastic?
type of compression ring/olive - plastic, brass or copper?

thanks in advance

Use whatever inserts are designed for the pipe.

Any metal olive.

I'm personally happier with a couple of turns of ptfe tape round the olive, especially with Polybutylene, which is softer than PEX.
