Hi

I've had to lift the floor on the 1st floor to provide access for some electrical work.

The previous occupants had glued and screwed ply to the joists so it didn't come up easy.

Now it's up I've discovered a compression tee on the central heating pipes.

I'm no plumber but I was under the impression that compression joints shouldn't be used anywhere that wasn't readily accessible? Can anyone confirm if that's correct?

Wondering if I should get it re-done by my plumber with an end feed piece when he comes to do some other work?

On the other hand, it doesn't appear to have leaked so far so perhaps best to leave it be plus I hear that soldering pipes that have had water in them is difficult.

EDIT: Added a photo - no idea why they've used expanding foam on the pipes!
