So, when i re plumbed 80% of my house, i made sure every single joint was a soldered copper joint. Why?? In almost 20 years of pest control i have seen about 3 copper pipes gnawed. I have seen HUNDREDS of those nasty plastic push on things gnawed by rats and mice...They are nice and soft and give the rodent (latin word, from Rodere: to gnaw) plenty of purchase. They are not eating them, they are keeping their teeth short else they grow too long and the roden cant feed and ironically dies of starvation. I would NEVER use plastic fittings anywhere that rodents could access..Like in wall spaces, cavities, under floor etc.

Squirrels are just as bad but typically exisit only in the loft. But yep, they are rodents as well...
