Looking for some ideas for a small cold water only basin to be used for
cleaning artists brushes in a new studio being built now.

It would be very advantagous if it could be folded or otherwise taken out of sight when the studio is being used for other purposes leaving a clear work top in place of the sink.

The water feed to the sink can be in the sink ( as in a bidet ) which would allow a simple hinged lid to be lowered to hide the sink when not in use.

Stainless steel would be preferred.

Problem with the feed being inside the sink is the supply would be live from the incoming main so a check valve or similar means of preventing back flow may be required.

Have a look at suppliers for caravans and boats. They often have small sinks with low taps so that they can be fitted with a lid. I'd guess they're not designed for mains pressure so you'd have to reduce the flow.

Good idea. Will be at the local caravan people tomorrow. And as it is a single storey building with loft a small header tank can be fitted in the loft to remove mains pressure. Solves the back syphon problem as well.
