Concealed cistern problems

Hi

This is our bathroom toilet set up. Cistern is concealed behind tiles and under a wooden ledge. It was installed circa 20 years ago. (Fitter now long retired)

We have two issues:

1. Inaccessibility of the cistern. There is no viewing panel to remove etc. Last time we had a plumber up (not original one), he somehow forced the ledge up and removed one of the tiles to access and repair.

2. Problem now is push button only works if you press in the centre of the button, also makes sort of bump/thud sound. Previously, flush responded when pressed anywhere on the button. Does this sound like an issue which will quickly deteriorate.

Does it sound like push button or wider issue?

Many thanks.

Install access panel and swap out the workings for something new.
I know they look great all concealed, but toilets need to be serviced.
Nows your chance.
You can buy access panels or make something..

Hi All

Critical update. I’ve now butchered the shelf to gain access to the Dudley Cistern. The push button is fine (resistance if you remove tubes and cover both holes) The only thing that confused me was that the green tube was doing the full flush, when all the Dudley videos refer to green doing half flush. The middle button (half flush) definitely connected to clear tube.

The system is circa 20 years old, so assume the valves currently advertised would fit.

Many thanks

His wife is throwing as well

Many thanks
