The French Floor is pine - softwood and will make your floor look characterful indeed, just be aware the floor comes unfinished and a natural colour finish on pine easily and quickly can turn it orange (ugly orange.
I understand your reasons for opting for this one, but please be aware of the following:
it's a softwood, damages easily (but you can regard this as adding character, depends on what kind of effect you're trying to create)
it is a very wide board, prone to give more problems and I would not recommend installing it floating but glueing it down with flexible adhesive (which unfortunately is more expensive than combi-underlayment and PVAC wood-glue together)
plus you have to install a divider between lounge and dining area to prevent creating a very wide "floor". Based on the maximum width of the area (3.7m) you have to leave at least a 18mm expansion gap
