I have just removed the hideously uneven tiles from our kitchen floor to reveal... a hideously uneven concrete floor. The main problem is that there is a 'bulge' towards one end, and this bulge is too high - perhaps an inch - for the rest of the floor.

How can I get this down to level? (Levelling 'up' is not an option as I'd have to redo the entire kitchen).

Oh, and the bulge is not a sign of anything structural going awry. It just isn't (at all) flat.

It's a boring job, but can help remove the hump.
Ask at your local hire shop and see what they have available, depending on the size of the job(area covered) it could be worth investing in additional grinding stones.
But if the area is only small, one set could do it.
