Hi - I am planning to put a concrete floor in a basement flat. So - sand / 150mm concrete slab / DPM / 100mm insulation / resin, liquid screed.

Rather than run electrics and plumbing right the way around the room at some points I’m going to have to take a route across the room.

Where in the flooring do I put the cabling and plumbing?

I was thinking on top of the concrete slab within the insulation - cutting neat channels.

Or create conduit channels on surface of the slab beneath the insulation.

Has anyone done similar?

Many thanks in advance.

We've done both. Some customers have wanted 4" pipes fitted in before the slab so can feed wires and pipes through, others were laid within the insulation.

Clip it to the concrete slab.

Use 2 layers of 50mm insulation.

Lay first layer around the pipes, lay 2nd layer across whole area.

Cutting channels out ends in tears :ROFLMAO:
