Hi, in anticipation of arrival of aluminium sliding doors, we've got to prepare the aperture which includes filling the underfloor brick cavity. Should I use concrete or screed? It's 1.5 cubic metres. I know I've got to incorporate a DPM so is there a recommended method? Thanks.

1.5 cubic metres! Are you sure?

We use screed and completely line the trough with polythene. It may be wise to add a vertical strip of insulation against the door sill.

Ha, sorry, .15 cubic metres!! I did use the sticky for the screed calculation so thankfully I don't have 90 bags of sand and 30 bags of cement on the driveway.

Hi, does it need to be a trough of polythene or could I just line the one side? The cavity is 60cm deep but only 40mm wide so quite fiddly. Thanks.
