Can anyone offer a little advice here please?
We have two damp patches on external walls in our concrete rendered Victorian terrace, both are below windows and there is visible cracking in the render where the windows join etc.
My question is, if I chip the render away in these areas (or at least at the bottom to give water chance to escape, would that generally cause problems? I have a pretty big hunch the person who had it rendered many moons ago did so for aesthetic reasons(!) so no reason to suspect bricks are damaged underneath other than what render might have done to them.
Yours desperately not trying to spend 1000s on new render for a few months,
Kat
