Hey guys,

Quick bit of advice if you can please!

We're going to be pouring the base for my garage on monday - 10m x 3m @ 100mm thick, with A142 mesh half way down.

What i am unsure about, is control / expansion joints, do i need any? what type etc.

Its all going down in 1 pour.

cheers in advance!

Leave a gap in the mesh at the halfway point and slice the concrete with a con saw the next day with an asphalt blade fitted.
A 50mm slice will be enough to induce cracking.

We did a 11m x 6m garage slab same spec as you, I was going to put in the control joint, but paid structural engineer and he said only around the sides,

9 months in he s been right!
