We are building a separate unheated
garage (26x32) on our property.
We were advised to put rigid insulation under the concrete slab (2 feet inside and 2 feet out).
Is this necessary?
Is there any significant advantage to this?

Another option is to run the insulation along the 8 inch perimeter wall of the slab and out a few feet on a grade from the slab edge.

Not sure which is better or even necessary?

Thanks
