Hi, I'm about to build a permitted development porch between the garage, back door and garden. I want to use concrete tiles on the roof to match the existing building.

The porch will be 3 metres long and 1 metre wide.

Do I need to provide ventilation in the roof as I was intending just to fit insulation between the rafters and then put a ceiling directly to the underside.

If you are going to heat this porch then I would put over fascia vents in at least, and I would also recommend insulated plaster board.

Hi catlad,

I intend to use 70mm Celotex between the rafters and then cover with T&G wood cladding. Would I still need to fit further insulation under the rafters?

Do I need to fit a further DPM under rafters and celotex before installing the cladding?

Can you use the felt trays with the eave ventilator over the top of the facia board?

Richard
