Condensate pumps

Does anyobe know if saniflo / grundfos type of condensate pumps can be used to take the PRV outlet from boilers? There specs say that they can handle 85deg for short periods.

In short probably not due to the material it's made
from,the size of the discharge hose,the size of the pump,and the quantity of water it will hold.

You could always ask them bearing in mind that saniflo is actually made by grundfos.

Thanks. Tried ringing but shut down for new year.

Got a boiler in a basement (carpeted & decorated) where the smart ass who installed it decided to cap off the PRV which is now blowing seals due to EV failing so need to come up with a relatively low cost / low disruption means of providing for the PRV pipe

depending on space requirements you could just terminate it into a large galvanised tank capable of holding all the system water.

Tee it into the return and put a prv elsewhere on the system where it can discharge safely.
Copndensate pump would fill and over flow within seconds if a prv blew off in it

Some manufacturers e.g. Baxi supply a kit to do this, I would check with the manufacturer first if it were me!

All above replys correct I personally think the manufactures of these condensate pumps missed a trick, as if its difficult to remove condensate its tough to do prv as well.

I have spoken to a saniflo rep regarding this and the design of the pump as mentioned above is not capable of removing the potentially large amounts of water and also at the temperatures it could potentially be at the device has not been designed to take.
