How much condensation should you get on the main cold water inlet to the house? Sometimes it's dripping off the stoptap but not a constant drip, just there is water there that looks like its ready to drip.
Also when removing part of a kitchen unit today where the pipe goes into the concrete floor there is a lot of the green stuff growingand the pipe looks damp as does the concrete around it.

Condensation is a lifestyle thing more than a plumbing thing.
Almost any human activity produces copious amounts of water vapour that will stay stuck inside a well draughtproofed modern house ready to condence on any cold surfaces, such as the rising water main.

Providing it is condensation, and not a leak from the stopcock, the answer is a combination of insulating the pipe (to stop moist air coming into contact with it) and ventilation (to reduce the humidity of the air inside your house)
