Condensation on socket

I have a metal socket in a small outside shed. During cold damp whether there is a lot of condensation in the shed (there are a lot of cold water pipes running through) and the socket gets quite damp - so much so that it occasionally trips the RCD.
Could I resolve this by fitting a plastic socket? Or is there a better way?
