Condensation Roof Help

Hi,

I have a room in my cellar kitchen that was used when the house was built in the 1800's for storing food etc. Its not my store room

The room is below ground so naturally its not 100% dry but not that wet either. The walls are damp to the touch but not so much for me to start paying out for it to be tanked.

The problem is with the stone roof flags (they are the path outside my front door).... they collect lots of droplets of water (condensation) then it falls off and soaks everything. Its not leaking in any way so I know that is not the problem.

There is an air vent in the room going to the outside of the house and that lets cold air in. I have tried blocking it off in the past but that did not help.

Does anyone know of a cheap solution to fix it or make it a little better?

You need to stop the moist air coming into contact with the cold surface of the slabs.
Have you thought of possibly mounting a slim, (2" thick battens), wooden frame, infilling the gaps with insulation and then dry lining with plasterboard?
No need to skim, just fill in joints and nail/screw heads with painters caulk, and paint over.
Keep the air brick, in fact, see if you can put another one in an opposite corner, this will circulate fresh air around and help with the condensation as well.
