Hi just wondering if anyone can help me please I have a 95 nissan micra which broke down yesterday at my local supermarket (shaming) I know its a problem with the fuel pump ut when I tried searching for a new fuel pump online there was loads of different types available :? my car started when petrol was poured directly into the carb but then cut out again there isnt a blockage so does anyone know which part I would need to repair my lil princess(car) please :D

Hello Kitz
Although your fuel pump could well have packed in, its best to know that it is controlled by a relay, under a black plastic cover, just to the left side of the battery.
There are spaces for 4 relays, but your car may have only 2. Either way, its a blue relay (most of them are), so lightly tap them with a screwdriver handle, (ignition on) and listen for the pump starting to whirr. If it does, wee Micra will start.
If you do need to access the fuel pump, its through a plastic hatch, under the rear seat.
For a new pump, give a motor factor your reg. number and they'll fix you up with the correct one.
John :)
