Confusion over 30amp socket

I am hoping to install a dual fuel range cooker that needs a 30amp connection. We have a gas Aga with electric fan at the moment which appears to be plugged into a 'normal socket' not one with an isolation switch. The fuse for the kitchen ring in the fusebox says 30amp - does that mean that is the total amperage on the circuit, and so do I need to get a separate 30amp supply just for an electric cooker?

If it is a free-standing cooker, ask for a 32A socket to be installed, then you'll be able to unplug it to move it out for decorating or cleaning etc.

They should move when jacked up onto their wheels, otherwise they'd be a bit of a ****** to install.

And if you find a 32 amp plug and socket is going to stick out too much to get the cooker back, then forget it.

An angled one partially recessed into the wall?

Bear in mind that somewhere close to that will be a bayonet connector for the gas supply.

It is normal I know to have 32A sockets in a commercial kitchen. But in domestic the cooker connection unit is more normal. The main problem with an extra supply from the fuse box is either the cables need to be surface or you need special cable or install RCD protection, I seem to remember the size of socket that requires RCD protection has changed, I know it was 20 amp, but not sure if that is still the case?
