Thanks all for your comments, I have spoken to an electrician who has confirmed that I do need a new circuit for 32amp supply to cooker. This will be more expensive than I thought, so going for an all gas cooker which just has electric ignition - I think I'll only need 13amp socket for that which is already there.

If your like me, adjusting to a change in cooking methods can take and age, so if use to gas, even if electric does a better job, then likely gas is a good move.
It was probably cheap enough until you mentioned the requirement for a 30A socket.
Feel free to show how 30A sockets are hugely more expensive than cooker outlet plates....
