Connecting 6mm SWA to 2.5mm T&E in an FCU

I’m looking at powering a small garden office with a spur using 13amp IP66 External FCU. I want to use 6mm SWA from the FCU to the garden office as the run will be 75 meters and I’m therefore concerned about voltage drop (though I will likely never draw above 9 amps). But I can’t find an FCU with terminals for 6mm and 2.5mm.

Anyone aware of any FCU’s that have adequate terminals or is their another way around this that won’t involve the addition of junction box?

The 6mm² and 2.5mm² would be in different terminals - 2.5mm² for the supply and 6mm² for the load.
Thanks. I was early reading the specs incorrectly and didn’t realise the terminal capacity was just referring to the load

I'm glad you found the useful safety advice from a professional helpful:sneaky:
A brief explanation as to why ‘outside power is not a DIY job’ would’ve been actually really helpful. Knowing why I should or shouldn’t tackle something as a DIY’er could actually help keep me safe in the future when I’m deciding on what I might want to try and do next. Sarcastic comments like this are just really frustrating

Ok. Ask a question about something you do not know about outside power installations.

Thank you

1. Why is connecting outside power in the way I’ve proposed in the original post not something a DIY’er should do?

2. When an outdoor FCU says it has a terminal capacity of 3 x 2.5mm², 2 x 4mm² or 1 x 6mm² cables, will it accommodate a supply of 2.5mm and a load of 6mm? (I think the answer is yes as the FCU will have separate terminals for the load and supply so therefore the stated terminal capacity applies to each terminal?)
