In my kitchen I have a central light in the ceiling and I wish to add some downlighters using the same electrical feed. However, the downlighters are double-earthed and so cannot be earthed.

The central light is earthed. How do I connect the downlighter circuit to the earthed one?

you only have to connect the live and neutrals, as in the same ones to which the light is connected to, not the other wires that you may find.
