I have searched for this topic first!

1. I can plumb but are very limited when using domestic electric systems and have only installed combis with aid of a sparky before. I want to retro fit my house with solar panels to reduce my heating cost, but I believe it would need pumped and possibly a timer/stat fitted.
2. Also any advise on roof penetration as this does give be a little concern about water tightness!
3.Are electrical connections usually taken as spur or junction box off a upper level ring.
4. Do solar panels usually take anti-freeze?
5. No I don't wear sandals ;)

the answer to 3 is
normally a fused connection unit, either spured of or part of the ring (part of being better, spur is eaier)

with regard so solar panels i think this would need specialist advice ( i have heard of radiators being painted matt black and put into (frames, to act as mini green houses) but surley it would need a bit more specilist advice. oh and a lot of solar panels and sunshine to make it worth while

Thanks breezer!
It might be said that solar panels are a little poor in comparison to your normal fossil fuel but it is the way ahead. The panels would be "supplimentary heating" on my home, not a primary heating source obvioulsy.
Its more of a "practice" as I intend buying a rundown place in Spain later, where I believe its quite sunny!
