I'm planning to have a 5KW electric car charger installed at my house.
Unfortunately, the CU is on the other side of the house to where I want the charger installed so I'm in the process of feeding a 6mm t&e cable through the house from the CU to keep things neat. I'm presuming I need to change to 6mm SWA for the short run to the charger which is outside.
My question is:
How will I connect the t&e to the swa, I'm presuming by junction box? Can this box be on the outside of the house? I was intending to push the t&e through the outside wall in anticipation of the electrician connecting the swa in a box on the outside wall. The electrician will make the connection at the other end at the CU.
Firstly, is this acceptable practice, and if so, can someone suggest a suitable heavy duty outside junction box to connect the 6mm t&e to the swa.
Many thanks in anticipation.....
