Is this allowed, using a strap on boss?

Any forbidden dimensions?

Is it better to connect into vertical soil pipe? (this method a little tricker in the situation)

Thanks folks

No reason why not, I assume it's a toilet that's on the branch? If so then you may want to include an anti vac trap too.

Thanks Rob, yes it's a wc on a one metre branch or thereabouts. Just wanted to check whether there were any regulations against it.

Nope, nothing against the regs as far as I remember M, you can actually get Pan connectors with a 40mm compression access already fitted. They state they are a vent acess but they can be used as a waste inlet too, just have the vent in the trap.
