Acquired cooker second hand, replacing defunct but v similar siemens, so wall wiring all there - couple of metres of what looks like std mains cable used to connect the cooker to wall outlet in wall, in turn connected (hidden in wall) to single cooker switch, whence to MCB.

However, block in new Whirlpool oven is unlike anything seen before (mind, not vastly experienced, though have wired many plugs and even power/lighting circuits a long time ago when it was still legal). Suspect requires special 'male' bits which have gone awol, which should be crimped to cables ?

Advice on how to proceed much appreciated ie
- how ARE supply cables meant to attach to this block ?
- is it possible to buy any missing bits (special whirlpool bits ?) & where
- or what, & what size size generic bits needed (if applicable) eg crimps, screws
- if is all whirlpool specific, & doubtless they only sell the whole block for £30, any workaround possible / safe ?

Cheers, David

I think your just missing the screws to go in the holes.

The screw head should be the same width to fit between the grooves

Yes, you just need some shortish screws to go in the holes.
Maybe dropped out in transit, or teh first owner just threw them away.

Cant tell what size screw you need from a photo, probably M4 or M5 but make sure they are not so long that they can touch that metal plate underneath!

That will probably be the hardest part of the spec to find - those screws have had wider heads than normal. Buying a short barrier strip might eb a god way to obtain a few.

David - it's worth a sob-story letter/email to Whirlpool, asking if you can buy 3 screws, or if not could they please tell you what size they are. They might just send you some for free.
