Dear all,

I hope you can help me, I have a leak coming out of my basin waste where the 32mm plastic attaches to a 40mm plastic pipe and then connects to the cast iron basin waste pipe.

Well, today I have found out that the 40mm plastic pipe only SITS inside the cast iron and the excess space around the pipe has been plugged up with plumbers mait.

As you can guess the plumbers mait has blown and now I have a nice leak. Also, I cannot remove the old cast iron pipe.

q1 There is a tile currently blocking the old pipe so I cant get an exact measurement but it is either 2 or 2.5 inches?? does that sound right??

q2 Can anyone give me the name of an adaptor to connect from the old cast iron to modern plastic (40/32mm) ?

I have been looking on screw fix & plumbline but don't know what I'm after. I've been looking at Boss Adaptors ...

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated,
Jack.
