Conservatory Base Foundations

Im planning in building my own conservatory base with 600mm dwarf wall. Its a fairly simple site nice and flat and firm ground so I was planning on building a minimal foundation of about 700mm deep. The only issue is that a drain runs directly through my conservatory base. The drain is set about 900mm deep so wont puncture the foundation but will be only about 100-200mm below. Should I lintel this drain or is this only neccesary if the drain runs directly through the foundation. Ive checked with the council and the water board and the drain is private so there is no issues with building regs.

Thanks Steve

in the world of building regulations your foundation trench bottom should be as deep or deeper than the drain invert taking a 45 degree line from the invert.

so, the whole trench needn't be as deep but only where its proximity to the drain pipe deems it necessary.

you can then shutter the concrete either side of the pipe and lintel over or expose the pipe altogether and wrap it compressible material, i.e. cavity batt fibreglass insulation.
