Hi

One of our two conservatory doors is sticking, even when you unlock. It’s the second door you open (one on right- see photo) It starts to move but gets stuck. Is there a quick fix for this?

(Have furniture coming today, and would be easier if we could open)

Thanks

By sticking , do you mean the lock is sticking , or the actual door is sticking within the frame? If its the actual door it probably needs adjusting on the hinges or ' Toe and healing ' . A quick test is if you lift the leading edge of the door up as you open it , does that stop the door sticking? If so get a picture of the door hinges and people should be able to tell you how to adjust it

The door on the right is called the stay. It’s generally the one that gets used the least and inevitably over a period of time becomes stiff. Check the door isn’t catching on the frame if it is there could be a couple of solutions. Ronniecabers mention toe and heel and this refers to the door hinges by adjusting them ever so slightly with an Allan key could free the door. The other could be the frame has dropped and might be catching the door. It’s difficult to properly diagnose a problem off a photo but I hope this helps.

Hi Both

Thanks for prompt and helpful replies. Just lifted leading edge and, hey presto, it works.

Many thanks. Hope you and your families stay safe.
