I have just put a conservatory up and need lights, and power in there. I have done my own electrical work in the past for years. Can I run a spur down my cavity wall for my lights, and the sockets? Well I can, is it advisable though?

If not whats the best way to get my power in the conservatory, without cables everywhere. It is a hardwood conservatory, if it makes any difference.

Thanks

It's supposed to be bad practice to put cables inside cavity walls because it potentially bridges the cavity but the company who built ours did it. They put two double sockets on the dwarf walls and the wires went in the cavity. These sockets were a simple extension of the downstairs ring. They also put a fused connection unit on the extended ring for lights and a fan.

NB: If you should ever fill that cavity with polystyrene beads THEN you'll have a problem because polystyrene and PVC don't get along too well.
