Some pro, some anti, some political, some personal. It's the some who are silent who are of interest and who are speaking the loudest.

perhaps they don't want to speak ill of the dead, and prefer not to lie by saying she was wonderful.

I always find that slightly amusing. "Kid killed in street by taxi" "Salt of the earth, lovely boy would make someone a fine husband when he grew up"
Never the little sheite that threw bricks at your pet cat and played dodgems with taxis in the street, always the little angel. Still, as they say, only the god die young, which must make me really, really bad!

Moi aussi, Scoby!

You could say the same about folk on here too, though...

I admit I was not her greatest fan.

Scargill, Howe, Heseltine, etc

The only politician I've heard say a bad word is Gerry Adams. Of course he tried to kill her (and anybody else who happened to be around at the same time), so hardly surprising really.

Well don't forget that Stephen Lawrence was going to be an architect because he drew a sketch of his kitchen.

Ken Livingstone was on Radio 4 this morning with Ken Clarke. Red Ken obviously didn't agree with Maggie's policies but didn't have a bad word to say about her. In fact Clarke (Tory) gave his impression of Thatcher first, and Livingstone said he agreed with every word.

I'm not 'absent'...

She was a vindictive c nut...

That is the sign of a Gentleman-- who respects another persons different view to his own.
Some posters on this forum should take a look at the example Ken has set .
He respects a deceased person . Ken has gone up in my estimation .

Wow Joe...Where can I find that information? Do you believe it? Gimme a yes or no please (it wont).

First saw Red Ken in a pub in Kendal in 70s when he was pounding the country trying to make himself known. Remember him saying the only paper that was worth reading was the Financial Times as it was pitched at bankers and they needed to know the truth as that mattered when making money. Interesting thing for him to say.

Thought he did a good job as leader of GLC until he started inviting IRA criminals to London, I didn't think that was in his remit. He's one of the few politicians I'd buy the first round for.
