Hi,

I need some advice regarding the supply to my CU.

About 4 years ago I had a new cu fitted by an electrician, I have now found out that the supply has been run from the meter to an isolator in 25mm tails but then from the isolator to my cu in 10mm twin and earth (over a 4 metre distance).

I have not heard of main consumer units being supplied by twin and eath and thought you had to use tails. Please can anyone tell me if this was acceptable or if it is completely wrong ??

Many thanks
Rob

Assuming the 'isolator' is infact a switch fuse, and has a fuse of the correct value, then this is a perfectly acceptable setup.

yeah there's a fuse in it.. it's the bit on the left you can pull out..

and are you sure it's 10mm T+E? they make 16mm T+E as well..
