I am about to swap my old Wylex cartridge fuse CU for a more modern split load version. The only thing is I don't fancy working live when it comes to swapping the tails over to the new CU. My electricity supplier is now British Gas, does anyone know if they charge to come out and remove the main isolator ?

Cheers.

Yes.

And this is not a DIY job. Replacing a CCU requires an ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION CERTIFICATE and must include full test results for the installation. You need to 'Competent', posses the appropriate test equipment and be able to use it.

Do you know the Maximum Earth Loop Impedance of the protective devices you will be fitting? How will you measure Ze of the supply?

I have no wish to be rude but safety is paramount when it comes to electricity.
