Hi All,

I hope someone can offer me some advice.

We have just moved in to a new house which has a very large double garage with office/large room above. We plan to use this for our business with the office upsatairs and storage room below. The garage was built only one year ago to a very high standard but the downstairs (main garage area) feels very damp but the upstairs is fine. The garage is constructed of standard brick but is only single skin. Any advice on getting rid of the 'damp feel' would be great.

Many thanks in advance

Martin

Will need more ventilation via air bricks or soffit/ridge tiles vent etc

The damp/feel musky smell is normally no movement of air circulation

Its more likely to be condensation, where the air is condensing on cold floor and walls.

I doubt that there is much that merely ventilation will do, as it will still be a cold room. It may well prevent dampness becoming excessive, but it will not remove the damp 'feel'
