Dear DIYnot Plumbers
We recently moved into a 1950's bungalow that currently has a 1 pipe heating system (Heat Only Boiler at least 17 years old) with a gravity fed water cylinder in the bathroom - This needs removing as it's taking up valuable space in the bathroom.
The current system is in the crawl space of the bungalow (Great access) and has 1 inch copper pipe leading to 22mm copper and 15mm copper going to the radiators.
I've drawn a rough sketch of the current system (See below)
We want to replace this for a Worcester 8000 Combi Boiler BUT currently only have the 1 pipe system which is not ideal for the combi.
My question is:
What solutions are available for turning the current 1 pipe system into a 2 pipe system and what materials would you use as a plumber?
Thank you for taking the time to answer this query
Kind Regards
David
