Cooker and Hob Installation

I have a Neff Cooker and Hob (3.8kW and 3kW) which will be connected to a 45A cooker switch with 6mm cable.

Both appliances are under the 32A of the breaker so can they both be directly connected or do they need seperately fusing (cooker is 16.5A and hob is 13A)?

Hobs are usually more than 3KW but - if its only 3KW - you could run them both from the 32A feed.

You need to properly connect them both using 6mm cable. You may need a dual appliance connector like one of these Click PRW217

Do the maker's instructions say anything about fusing the appliances??

Sure can.

Are you intending to connect both wires x 6mm at the cooker plate beyond the cooker switch, or direct to the load side of the switch?

Reason I ask is that the cooker plate may struggle with 3 cables (feed from switch + 2 loads).

The hob is a domino hob with two gas and one electric so is only 3kW. The appliances are being delivered tomorrow so haven't looked at instructions yet, just looked at the ratings.

There is a cooker outlet beneath the switch so can just use that.

Ahh, that explains it!

You may find the hob comes with a plug - that may create more questions.

All you need to know should be in the MI's installation instructions.

Did the 3kW device come with a plug on it?

Do you intend to put the cooker control switch inside a cupboard?

If the answer to both question is yes, then why not install a CCU with skt for the 3.8kW appliance and just plug the 3kW device into it?

So if the hob requires a 13A fuse or comes with a plug attached is it ok to run a 6mm to a plug socket/SFCU in the cupboard? The CCU will be on the wall near the hob.
