We have installed a new cooker hood in a new kitchen extension. We decided to use charcoal recycling filters (which is an option supplied by the manufacturer) opposed to putting a vent through the wall. The building inspector has told us we have to vent through the wall and the reycling option is a no, no. Is ths true?

Actually I think it varies dependent on whether the kitchen is a replacement and there was no extractor before or if its a brand new kitchen install.
