Just tiled my kitchen and changed the sockets for new ones but am wondering can I change the cooker switch/socket ( not used for cooker) into a double standard type socket by just taking that off and putting a double socket there instead? .
If I can do I need to change the mcb to a different rating as well?.
Thanks

Yes you can. The mcb is designed to protect the cable, so you will be ok in that respect, but you may want to change the mcb to better suit the load on the socket. Label the fusebox properly, with the cable size and function, so there's no confusion later.
