hi there, having serious problem with one downstairs rad that takes hrs to heat up, the heating system has recently been changed to oil fired heating from coal.

The problem rad looks very new compared to the rest. i have bleed the rad loads of times with no air coming out, tried flushing the rad wi very little black sediment coming out. there is also a rad coming of the same pipes in the hall that heats up no problem(3 feet away) . also tried balancing rad upstairs on the return valve (oppisite side from thermostat valve) still no joy.

any advice would be great cause this is really startin to annoy me and the living room is always cold without the electric heater on.

Turn off all the other rads on the system with the trouble-rad left "on" and let us know what happens.
