Hi
Can anyone tell me the advantages and disadvantages of an indirect copper vented hot water cylinder over a stainless steel one.
Thanks

None, unless there is a price difference!

The stainless are usually a bit lighter and often have a longer warrantee.

There was a flurry of cheaper stainless cylinders but they have all now disapeared from stock and apparently are no longer available.

Thanks Tony
Are the compression fittings for a conventional copper cylinder compatible with the stainless steel cylinder.

No.

ASAIK SS cylinders have the required tappings as part of teh tank structure (welded on I presume?)

22mm compression nut and olive probably.
