Stainless Steel Cylinder Scrap Metal Value.

Would anyone kindly tell me if they know what is the scrap metal value (relative to copper) of a stainless steel unvented cylinder (Megaflo)? Want to take it to the tip this weekend but maybe it has some value?

Stainless steel does have a good scrap value but you might have to take it out of the casing to get the best value.

Its leaking at he immersion boss weld.

The price for copper is about £4.50 per kilo and stainless aboiut £1.30.

But scrap dealers love to pay a lot less by rubbishing the quality and under weighing.

Replacing a megaflo already? How old is it? Not sure when they introduced the 25-year warranty but there's one in place now...

It was 17 years old and leaking.. They only issued a 10 year guarantee in those days!!!
