Core Cutters

I use core cutters , usually 80mm Dia . My question is: The heavy duty drill I use only has hammer action. Is it safe to use a core cutter in a hammer action, or does this damage the core cutter.

if it is diamond tipped best not to use hammer, but you have no choice (unless you get a new drill)

Thanks Breezer, I use the cheapo TCT core drills from Screwfix.
