I'm plumbing in the waste for the kitchen sink, the space underneath is limited what with water meter, stop tap, plumbing for dishwasher, machine machine etc etc. I know where I want to core drill on the inside for the 40mm waste, but relating this position onto the outside is proving difficult.

iF i were to pilot drill from the inside to outside, I'm worried about blowing out the bricks which is not what I want to achieve. Any tips?

Drill a 10mm hole from outside to inside through the cement joint.
Doesn't matter if its wrong.
The main priority is not to blow off a chunk of brickwork or outside render.
Then use this to measure from for the second hole. Again drilled from outside to inside. Then fill the first hole with cement.
Simples.

Perhaps I am missing something?

Surely the hole position is dictated by whats inside?

So all you need to do is to drill ( after making sure nobody is standing outside against the wall ) ?

Imagine you don`t have an sds/core /hammer drill - only a hammer and cold chisel -Plus a spirit level and a tape measure . I seem to remember we used to put the level through a nearby window and transfer measurements from inside to out 8)

I have expected he has a diamond core drill which cuts a neat hole.

If he only has a TC toothed core then he needs to get a diamond one!

Ah yes, the good old days, where the hard of thinking were soon found out & you'd drive your Viva or Thames van down to the Pie Shop at Lunch time for the pies..............

What is it about this forum, is only having half a brain cell prerequisite for membership??...........

I drove a Viva HB from Doha to London!

Broke a spring in Syria and cracked the water pump in a blizzard in Turkey but otherwise ok.
