I did not persue it Doyle, as I am looking into gaining a teaching qualification first.

I am not quite old enough yet ;)

cheers thou mate

An "adult teaching qualification" is not normally required for teaching vocational subjects or for that matter any adult teaching.

Its only needed for schools although casual supply teachers still dont need it as far as I am aware.

What IS required is the Assessor Awards ( A1/A2 ) but they can usually only be done in a college environment because of the need to do three assessments on students as part of the training for the portfolio. Its normal to employ tutors on the basis that they much get the A1/A2 within 12 months although the training ( three days ) is usually provided free by the college.

Its an important aspect of college work to be able to assess students on accredited courses. So thats why they all have to get it usually including the lab techs who often have an important role in practical work assessment.
