Hello. I'm wondering if anyone can help me.

I have a Corvec Britony II water heater installed in the bathroom. Problem is that the water coming out of the hot water tap has become gradually colder over the last couple of months, and now, only cold water comes out of the hot water tap.

What could the problem be? I've heard that it may be the diaphragm. If so, is it easy to install? How much would it cost? Would you recommend a professional to fix it? I just can't afford replacing the water heater right now, and hence would appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

Thanks.

Dave.

they are quite simple to change however. becareful not to lose the washers or change it when a gas centre or plumber centre to get replacement one, vokera do a similiar size. Firstly turn the water at the stop cock off and open the downstairs taps. remove the casing
- turn selector nobs to the twelve oclock position then remove by pulling each nob off. can only go back on there corresponding selector. then push the little panel up to take it off and remove the metal plate.
- unscrew the screw at the top and bottom ( remove lower panel if still on )
- now infront of you will see what looks like a block, brass if i remember right with about 6 nuts and two pipes connected at the back loosen them first try not to disturb the washers. then reomve the nuts and the housing will split in two and the diagphram is in there so clean the housing inside lubricate the diagphram and replace once assembled water back on and check for leaks and make sure water heats up then back together..

Needs an RGI as access to the combustion is req'd, be careful with your advice!

Could also, at a push, be the rod that the diaphragm operates is bent.

Thanks for all your replies so far, but one question: What do you mean by "needs an RGI"?

Thanks.

And check the back of his CORGI card to see if he is qualified/competent to work on water heaters ;)
