I am having 4 large storage radiators removed and replaced with modern alternative. As the storage radiators are mounted flush against the wall this will leave a fairly large area that will need covering up. The new radiators are smaller and stand on brackets away from the wall much more like conventional gas central heating radiators.

Can anyone suggest something cosmetically pleasing and safe (as thin as possible) that could be screwed to the wall and the new radiator brackets mounted through to cover up the footprint of the old radiators to save decoration for the time being at least.

Any help appreciated.
