I have engaged someone to create a patio for me and turf the rest the of the garden.
I have agreed a price for this.
However there are a couple of add ons
1) since my garden is at a bit of slope (total 10cm fall), I have asked to put in two oak sleepers to be put in to divide the garden into two levels. They have quoted 200 pounds to lay the two sleepers supply and fit.
Does it cost that much?
2) To put in a recessed drain cover (35 cm). This is being charged at 200 pounds supply and fit.
Do you think that these costs are reasonable?
My fear is of engaging someone who keeps escalating prices as the work progresses.
